Emily is a certified evidence-based nutritionist on Bowen Island who holds a Master's in Coaching and Athletic Administration and became a certified evidence based nutritionist through MNU University in the UK.
Emily Pett played five years of university basketball in Canada and then coached at Kwantlen Polytechnic University and Simon Fraser University. Along with on-court coaching, Emily took a great interest and passion in helping athletes both mentally and nutritionally.
Evidence based nutrition involves the use of current researched-based evidence, clinical expertise and individual preferences to guide nutritional interventions. Since Fall 2018, Emily has been working one-on-one with clients on Bowen Island in a variety of areas including but not limited to: weight loss, muscle gain, sports nutrition, pregnancy, diabetes, autoimmune diseases, allergies and healthy ageing.
After a full dietary and lifestyle analysis, Emily sits down with the client and presents them with an in-depth nutrition report which includes recommendations on both current eating habits as well as supplement and lifestyle suggestions to optimize the overall health of the client. Emily also assists clients who are interested in continuous food diary analysis and guidance, as well as with grocery shopping and meal planning.
